CURRENT SPECIAL EXHIBITION
Heroic Theatre- Heroic Histoy(ies)
Who is a hero, and who decides? The exhibition “Heroic Theatre – Heroic History(ies)” invites visitors to rediscover well-known and forgotten figures and to examine the stories behind their fame. Marking the “500th Anniversary of the Peasants’ Wars,” the Vogtturm Museum explores how images of heroes emerge, evolve, and are used for various purposes. Accompanied by the digital night watchman “Isidor Akheill,” visitors navigate a world of historical facts, legends, and surprising perspectives on the past and present.
If not now, then when?
With the Simultan project “WHEN IF NOT NOW,” the museum builds a bridge from the Peasants’ Wars to the present. The installation explores democracy, moral courage, and social responsibility today: Who stands up for the common good, and how can we actively shape our future? At the center of the exhibition is the “Plaisir-Plissée Flag,” developed in collaboration with artist Barbara Holub, which challenges traditional symbols of power and, with its dynamic forms, sends a powerful message of diversity, participation, and democratic coexistence.
IN FOCUS – The Photographers of Zell am See
The special exhibition is dedicated to the work of important local photographers and brings past times to life in impressive images. Their photographs tell stories of everyday life, landscape, and change – snapshots that say far more than a thousand words.

THE PORSCHE DESIGN PRINCIPLE
Since 1972, Studio F. A. Porsche has been striving for the perfect symbiosis of form and function. The special exhibition showcases the development and fascinating work of the studio, which has been based in Zell am See since 1974.
